A Crime So Monstrous

Human Trafficking is a crime against humanity. It involves an act of recruiting, transporting, transferring, harboring or receiving a person through a use of force, coercion or other means, for the purpose of exploiting them. It is a form of present day slavery and it affects more than 27 million people around the world. It’s hard to see a staggering number like that and fathom how many people that really is, so if you take the population of the entire state of Texas and then add the population of the entire state of Nevada, you would have about 27 million people.

The Dilemma of Christopher Nolan

At this very moment, thousands of fingers smack keyboards feverishly declaring Nolan’s latest Chinese finger trap of a film a masterpiece, insisting on its brilliance, its importance. I observe that when speaking of Inception there is no room for measured or moderate terms of praise like “good,” “interesting” or “well done”; no, not when the more grandiose declarations “best film of the decade,” “mind-blowing” and “transcendent” are available. When it comes to Nolan, hyperbole is the order of the day.

Lost In The Mayhem

“Hey, you need to interview me.” There was a look of determination in his eyes.

As I sat there in the press area feeling the effects of the heat and, frankly suffering through an afternoon of interviewing everyone at the Mayhem Festival that you could possibly think of; having someone just sit down in front of you really wasn’t as odd as it sounded. I nodded, “What band are you in? And are you on my docket?”
